AFFCNY Conference Scholarship Applications
Application deadline is April 10: The AFFCNY Coalition is again able to offer scholarships to those interested in attending our annual Foster Care and Adoption Conference.This year, though generous funding from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, we are able to offer scholarships for:
CERTIFIED FOSTER PARENTS IN NEW YORK STATE
This conference scholarship includes full access to the online conference through complimentary registration. Eligible applicants include parents who 1) live in New York state 2) currently certified as a foster home and 3) providing foster care to children. Kinship and relative caregivers may also apply as long as they also meet the same certification criteria. Preference will be given to new or less experienced foster parents and relative caregivers, parents who are members of parent support groups or networks, those who are interested in starting a parent support group or network in their area and those who play or would like to play a leadership role in their community. Preference will also be given to foster parents who have never been afforded the opportunity to attend the annual conference and those who write a compelling paragraph as to why the scholarship would be beneficial for their family. Need will also be considered.
Applicants planning to attend as many live event as possible during the full two-day conference will also be favored.
Apply for a Conference Scholarship
Foster parents may apply directly for themselves to receive the scholarships or other individuals or professionals may submit an application on behalf of another and nominate a foster parent to be a scholarship recipient. Please fill out the form: https://affcny.org/programs/education-training/conference/scholarships/ as instructed.
All scholarship applications are due April 10th, 2021. Please makes sure you have a confirmation email to ensure your application has successfully gone through. Awardees will be notified after April 25th.
